The Secret to Running a 10k.

So you've signed up for Love Running Manchester, but you're not sure quite how you're going to manage to get through the race. After all, 10k is quite a distance. It's a little over 6 miles, and that's not to be sniffed at.

How on earth are you going to manage it?

Well, you just need to know the secret. The secret to running the 10k doesn't lie in having a great physique - you don't have to be a born athlete. The secret doesn't lie in how fit you are right now - you don't have to be in awesome shape. The secret simply lies in Training.

Anybody can run a 10k if they train themselves up to it, a bit at a time. Don't push yourself too hard, don't go overboard. Just work up to it gradually, little by little.

We've compiled some guides for you. You can download them, read them, print them off. Of course, if you know what you're doing, you can use our more advanced training plan for intermediate runners.

Just don't share the secret with too many others. That way, when you make the finish line on May 10th, you can tell them it's all down to your great physique and the fact that you're just naturally super fit.
